World Creativity & Innovation Day - April 21

The purpose for World Creativity & Innovation Day https://wciw.org/ is to remind and encourage people to use their creativity to make the world a better place and to make their place in the world better too.

World Creativity & Innovation Day is a worldwide community dedicated to celebrating all forms of creativity. April 21 is a placeholder in time to give people a reason and opportunity to use imagination productively, to release new thinking, and to celebrate that.

World Creativity & Innovation Day seeks to inspire and enable others to live a more creative life.

The mission is simple: to encourage people to use new ideas, make new decisions, and take the steps towards making the world (and their place in it) better through creative thinking. And though these "softer" elements are not always heralded as bedrocks of business in the way that, say, rigorous financial management is, much development and growth depend on a creative spark or innovative approach.

When the economy is struggling, it’s easy for innovation to be seen as a nice-to-have. But it’s organisations that continue to focus on innovation during these tough times who come out on top.

Innovation is the development and application of ideas that improve the way things are done or what can be achieved. Innovation may result in new products or services, new or improved business processes, changes in the way your products are marketed or the introduction of new technology.

Innovation can help your business grow by improving productivity and efficiency. Your ability to innovate will also help your business to remain competitive and respond to changes.

Businesses can create an innovative team by fostering a learning culture and invest in the capabilities that will help individuals and organisations thrive. Organisations achieve and sustain transformational impact by building the individual and team skills in areas that are needed to sustain and grow the business.

Leaders wanting a long-term growth orientation naturally favour learning. They ask themselves if they are investing in the types of learning and reskilling programs which will help their businesses grow and prosper.

One of the critical elements of an innovative and learning organisation is the conviction the leader of the business has in understanding how important capability building is to achieving the broader impact that the business aspires.
