International Women in Engineering Day

This year June 23 2021, International Women in Engineering Day https://www.inwed.org.uk/ celebrates the amazing work women engineers around the world are doing supporting lives and livelihoods every day.

International Women in Engineering Day is celebrating its 8th year in 2021. INWED is an international awareness campaign which raises the profile of women in engineering and focuses attention on the amazing career opportunities available to women and girls in this exciting industry.

The theme for this year is ENGINEERING HEROES!

To celebrate three films will be released as an ‘Engineering Heroes’ collection to coincide with INWED on 23 June, to raise the profile of women engineers and inspire more women to consider a career in engineering.

Engineering Heroes aims to challenge the traditional stereotypes associated with engineers, and show engineering as a fulfilling and exciting career for future generations.

The three films are raw and powerful, with each protagonist sharing an immensely personal and inspiring story. They show that there is no single path into engineering, but drive and determination led each of them build a better world through a career based on solving problems.
