Work starts on Western Sydney Airport runway

Australia’s Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport is one step closer with construction now officially underway on the 3.7 km runway. Sustainability will remain a key focus on the airfield as well as in the terminal; crushed sandstone from tunnelling projects across Sydney will be reused as a high-strength foundation to support construction of the runway, taxiways and roads. Join ICI Australia for a tour behind the scenes at one of Sydney’s largest infrastructure projects - the Western Sydney International Airport - on Friday 22 April.
