17 November Sydney Metro Martin Place Site Visit November 17, 2022By ICI Administrator General 0 ICI was thrilled to team up with Lendlease on 13 October to host a rare behind-the-scenes tour of the Sydney Metro Martin Place integrated station development for a group of 60 lucky participants. Lendlease is working with Macquarie Group to design and construct this vast public transport project and commercial precinct for the NSW Government. The tour, book-ended by presentations about the project, was a fantastic insight into the project and featured everything from the Sydney Metro tunnels to the top of the new Macquarie Bank Global Headquarters – 17 floors out of 39 that have so far been constructed. We split into two groups to visit the underground Station, North and South building sites, with highlights including the 40-metre-high atrium incorporating 29-metre escalators. The project is on track to swing into action in 2024, delivering another section of this rail network of fast driverless trains. We thank Lendlease and Sydney Metro for this fascinating insight into such a significant project. Learn more about the project and view more images here. ICI will be running more educational experiences in 2023, along with our exciting learning program for civil infrastructure managers. Click to find out more.
