19 May CPD upgrades for ICI Members May 19, 2023By ICI Administrator General CPD, Grading 0 As of April 2023, ICI Australia has increased the number of Endorsed Learning Organisations it recognises as professional development providers. This upgrade recognises the focus these organisations place on providing professional development to Members of the Civil Industry. CPD is a critical component of ICI Membership as it ensures skills and knowledge are up to date. This is particularly important in todays fast moving civil infrastructure environments. Learn more about why CPD is important Additionally, internal research has shown that many graded Members of ICI are actively involved in ‘giving back’ within the industry – for example, involvement in advisory panels and championing key infrastructure initiatives (such as the Women in Civil Program) This upgrade recognises these activities by allowing an increased points component for industry contribution. This means ICI Members will have a greater ability to earn CPD points from a variety of providers. As CPD is more accessible, achieving the required amount to maintain Membership is a simpler process. When does it start? These upgrades can be applied for immediately via the Members portal. ICI Australia has elected to make this upgrade retrospective. At a practical level this means Members can submit CPD applications for all learnings provided by external providers since ICI’s inception in 2019 in line with your Membership subscription date. Endorsed Learning Organisations The current list of ICI Australia current learning organisations include: Civil Contractors Federation (QLD, NSW, VIC, TAS, NT, WA) CivilTrain RTO’s (VIC, QLD) Australian Institute of Company Directors Non – Endorsed Learning Organisations ICI Australia continues to recognise professional development through providers other than those listed above, including short courses, conferences, workshops, seminars etc (noting they do need to be related to civil infrastructure).
